Common wombat, Bay of Fires, Tasmania, December 2010. My friend and I managed to get quite close to this wombat as it ate beside a lake. The wind was blowing away from it, so it couldn’t smell us. The wombats we came across usually didn’t bother to run away from us. They would just turn themselves as they ate so we would be photographing their bums half the time!

Picnic Rocks, Mt William National Park, Tasmania, Dec 2010. Eddystone Point and Picnic Rocks are nothing but spectacular in the views they offer. Just beyond a pristine white beach, the rocks rise above the water, marked by orange and red stripes and in front of a clear blue sky. It’s as if you’ve walked into a postcard or jigsaw puzzle. Breathtaking.
